How a body repair works
Assessment. We look at the damage properly — not just the visible part, but what’s underneath. A dent that looks minor can hide structural or paint damage that needs addressing to do the job correctly.
Panel work. Depending on the damage, a panel is either repaired or replaced. Skilled panel beating can save a panel that looks beyond hope; in other cases replacing it is the right call. We’ll tell you which and why.
Preparation and paint. This is where the quality shows. The repair is prepared, primed, painted and colour-matched to your car. Good colour matching and blending is the difference between a repair you can see and one you can’t.
Finishing. The area is polished and finished so it sits right alongside the rest of the car.
What affects the cost
- The size and location of the damage — a single panel is simpler than damage spanning several.
- Repair versus replacement — sometimes repairing is cheaper, sometimes replacing is.
- Paint and colour matching — metallics and specialist finishes take more work to match.
- Hidden damage — what’s found underneath can change the picture, which is why an honest assessment up front matters.
Insurance or private?
